O’Conner’s Texaco

Built in 1951 by Duane O’Connor and his father, their Texaco was on the outskirts of Eureka Springs. In 1961 Duane and Bob Wheeler built a two bay car wash to the left of the gas station, the first car wash in Eureka! The gas station shut it’s doors in 1980 and the car wash in 1983. Since then the car wash has been a candle shop (owned by our very own Jennifer’s parents), Mama Margaritas Mexican Cafe, Calzone’s Italian Cafe, and The Red Chili Cafe. While the gas station has been a moped rental, an arcade, Wally’s T-Shirt Shop, even an internet cafe, The Daily Planet. Dave & Ruth Hager came along and joined the 2 buildings and Sparky’s was born in 1994. We hope that we have broken the chain of failed businesses that were here, and after 27 years, we think we have!
